We have a heart for children, and providing a great learning environment for kids is at the heart of the Oakdale experience. Our Children’s Ministry consists of age-appropriate Bible studies every Sunday at 9:00 am. We also plan special events throughout the year, such as:

  • Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) Convention
  • Backyard Bible School
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Fall Carnival

When you enter the building, you’ll be greeted by one of our members, who can help direct you to where our Bible classes take place. Our curriculum is customized to fit the needs of our children and help them learn the word of God. We encourage all elementary-aged children to bring a Bible to class so they can learn to read scripture.

We group our children’s classes this way:

  • Nursery (0 to 12 months)
  • Toddlers (1-year-olds and younger 2’s)
  • Preschoolers (older 2’s and all 3-year-olds)
  • Pre-K and K (4-year-olds through Kindergarten)
  • 1st and 2nd graders
  • 3rd and 4th graders
  • 5th and 6th graders

During the summer, some of the above age groups may combine for larger classes. If you want to attend class with your children, please feel free to do so!

We offer an opportunity for our children ages 3 through 3rd grade to attend Children’s Worship during the last half of our regular worship time. Children are dismissed after the offering for customized programming featuring crafts, skits, stories, snacks, games, and lessons that help enhance their knowledge of important biblical principles, characters, and topics. Visitors are always welcome to attend. For younger children or other kids who wish to remain with their parents during the worship service, please feel free to borrow a “Busy Bag” located at the back of the auditorium. Each bag has activities for children and should be returned at the end of service.

Yes. We have a fully-staffed nursery during Bible classes and during the worship service each Sunday. You can leave your child in the nursery and return to adult class/worship or you can stay with them in the nursery if you prefer. Our nursery features a changing station and a private area for mothers who need a convenient place to feed their babies. If you choose to leave your baby in the nursery and return to the worship service, we’ll let you know if there is a need that demands your attention.
